Commander tips
Most important tip -Lead your squads. Don't just sit there firing the artillery.
- Direct your squads toward flags. Send two or three squads in so they have enough support.
- As the troops are nearing the objective you sent them to provide them with a UAV so they know where the enemy is.
- Use your artillery wisely. Make sure you run a scan across the map so you can target a cluster of enemies.
- Use supply drops wisely. If your squad leaders aren't asking for supplies, try to drop them in an area where you have a large cluster of troops or in an area you know they are going to encounter a lot of enemies.
- Communicate with your squads. Ask if they need help in any locations and help them target enemies using your scan and map capabilities.
- Try to stay in a safe location, but help with the fight. You have to weigh participating in the fight with trying to stay live. On maps where your teams flag can't be captured it is best to hang out there. The enemy typically comes to destroy artillery and satellite, but rarely come searching for the commander. In this case it will probably work to have a sniper rifle to pick off enemies or a engineer kit to repair your artillery or satellites. On maps where all your flags can be captured it seems like a good idea to place yourself on the outskirts of the action. Again a sniper rifle can be used to keep an eye on the enemy however, it might be good to have a special forces or assault kit so you can better protect yourself. The main key is carrying a kit you feel you can best defend yourself with. It is a bit difficult to balance staying in the fight and helping your team with the commander capabilities you have. If you are in the middle of a battle and you need to pop up the map to answer a request from a squad leader or drop some artillery you could easily be killed and then you are of no service to your team for 15 secs (a lot in this game).
